Yale Center of British Art




 We went to Yale Center of British Art on Monday. A lot of amazing paintings welcomed us. All of them were beautiful, but I especially love these 3 paintings. 
The attractive point of the first painting is its creepy atmosphere. The moon and the sun can never be close that much. At least I haven’t seen or heard such things. I’m not sure whether it’s real, but I'd be scared if it were real. I love its creepiness.
When I saw the second one, I remembered “The old man and the sea” It is beautiful. The beautiful view in this painting seems like praise for what the old man did in the novel. 
The third one, which I wrote Haiku about, made me relaxed and calm. My favorite point of this is that the man is sitting IN THE CORNER. Although he is the only animal in the painting he is not the main character. Usually, since humans believe that they are very smart, they tend to be arrogant and selfish to control everything. But in this painting, the main more important thing is nature. This is my favorite point of this painting.

The bowl of the tea ceremony

  "Bowl with Peonies, Pomegranates, and Bamboo" (Japan, Edo period) I'm interested in the idea of the tea ceremony such as tranquility or quietness and so on. I study Japanese culture, especially the tea ceremony in Japan. So I chose a thing that has to do with it. This bowl reminds me of the tea ceremony which I have been learning for about 6 years. My teacher at the tea ceremony taught me that the bowl having patterns inside is really rare and expensive because writing patterns inside is difficult and needs a high painting level. So, I was surprised there was such a beautiful pattern inside the bowl. I will keep tracking the tea ceremony, both in Japan and U.S.

Guess who's who

 Recently I'm making a virtue notebook. In this notebook, I listed everyone's virtue(people who are in the "The best people on earth" group on Instagram). My goal is to list at least 10 virtues of each one by the end of the summer session.  Here, I'll write down 3 virtues of each (of course everyone has more than 10 virtues! But in this blog, I picked up 3of the most characteristic virtues). Guess who's who! (These are my subjective opinion, so it might be difficult to guess) ① 1. Always strives for his/her goal. 2. The green screen event at Yale Art's Gallary

       I draw this picture last Thursday.  Honestly, I'm not satisfied with this picture because I came up with nothing at the time moment and I just drew what I want to experience once ― flying like a bird. Every Tanabata ー which is one of the most traditional ideas on July 7th and they have many festivals in Japan ー I pray to fly like a bird. But that doesn't express my ideal well. But anyway, it seems like I was flying with my own wings, that's an exciting experience!      I flew with beautiful, perfect butterfly wings last Saturday at CT post mall. But flying with mine is　much better. They're not perfect. But sometimes imperfect things are more attractive than perfect things such as lives. The wings I made were literally imperfect and it looked l ike I couldn't fly well with them. They expressed how unskillful, imperfect and so attractive I am.      That was a great experience!
